Please read these Terms carefully before using RentFort Africa. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms apply to all users regardless of country.
1. About RentFort Africa
RentFort Africa is a cloud-based property management platform designed for landlords across Africa. We support landlords in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, and other African markets, operating in multiple local currencies. The platform is headquartered in Kampala, Uganda.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "User") and RentFort Africa (the "Company", "we", "us").
2. Eligibility
To use RentFort Africa you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a property owner, property manager, or authorized agent
- Provide accurate registration information
- Have the legal right to enter into agreements in your country
- Have access to a valid mobile money account for subscription payments where applicable
3. Account Registration
Registration details including your name, identity document number, and account type are locked after registration to maintain platform integrity and comply with financial regulations. You are responsible for all activity under your account and must notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.
4. Subscription Plans and Payments
4.1 Free Trial
New accounts receive a 30-day free trial. No payment is required during the trial. At the end of the trial, a paid subscription is required to continue.
4.2 Subscription Plans
- Basic: UGX 150,000/month — up to 40 units
- Standard: UGX 250,000/month — up to 100 units
- Custom: Negotiated pricing — unlimited units
Pricing is currently in Uganda Shillings. Multi-currency billing for other African markets will be introduced as we expand. Equivalent pricing in KES, TZS, RWF, GHS, NGN, and USD will be available and communicated to users in those markets.
4.3 Optional Add-ons
- Setup & Onboarding: UGX 50,000 one-time
- Thermal Bluetooth Printer: UGX 200,000 one-time
- Account Management: UGX 100,000/month
4.4 Payment and Refunds
Payments are processed via PawaPay mobile money. Subscription fees are non-refundable once charged except where required by law. Contact us within 7 days for billing disputes at hello@rentfort.africa.
5. Acceptable Use
You must not use RentFort Africa to:
- Manage properties you are not authorized to manage
- Enter false or misleading information
- Harass, discriminate against, or threaten tenants
- Breach platform security or access other users' data
- Conduct money laundering, tax evasion, or any unlawful activity
- Reverse engineer or copy any part of the platform
- Use automated tools or bots to access the platform
6. Tenant Data Responsibility
As a landlord using RentFort Africa, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from tenants before entering their personal data, ensuring data accuracy, and complying with data protection laws in your country. You remain the data controller for your tenants' data. RentFort Africa processes it on your behalf as a data processor.
7. Tax Assistant Disclaimer
The Tax Assistant provides unofficial estimates only based on published tax rates. It does not constitute tax advice or an official filing. Tax laws vary by country and change frequently. Always verify figures with your national revenue authority or a licensed tax professional before filing. RentFort Africa accepts no liability for tax penalties arising from reliance on these estimates.
Currently the Tax Assistant covers URA (Uganda Revenue Authority) and KCCA (Kampala Capital City Authority) rates. Coverage for Kenya Revenue Authority, Tanzania Revenue Authority, Rwanda Revenue Authority, Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service of Nigeria will be added as we expand to those markets.
8. AI Assistant Disclaimer
The AI Assistant may make errors and does not provide legal, financial, or tax advice. It should not be the sole basis for significant business decisions. It processes your portfolio data to generate responses — see our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Multi-Country Operations
RentFort Africa is designed to serve landlords across Africa. Users in different countries are subject to the same Terms and the same data protection standards. We comply with applicable data protection laws in each country where we operate, including:
- Uganda — Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019
- Kenya — Data Protection Act 2019
- Tanzania — Personal Data Protection Act 2022
- Rwanda — Law on Personal Data Protection 2021
- Ghana — Data Protection Act 2012
- Nigeria — Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023
10. Intellectual Property
RentFort Africa, including its software, design, branding, and content, is our intellectual property. You retain ownership of your data. We are granted a limited licence to process it solely to provide the service during your subscription period.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, RentFort Africa is not liable for loss of profits, data loss, indirect or consequential losses, third-party provider failures, or tax liabilities from Tax Assistant estimates. Our total liability in any 12-month period shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by you in that period.
12. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or unlawful use.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Users in other African countries agree to submit to Ugandan jurisdiction for the purposes of resolving disputes related to this platform, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights in their own country.

14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms with 14 days' notice via email and platform notification. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
